THE TINY TERROR

The Thundercat is equipped with Bafangs latest motor; the M820… custom tuned by ourselves

Bafang, seeing significant growth in the West/Europe amongst mainstream brands, has actually been one of the longest standing pioneers in e-mobility and e-drive systems since 2003. This is their latest creation; a tiny 250W power house motor equipped to a 410Wh battery, kicking out a whopping 75nm of torque, making it one of the strongest yet lightweight mid drive motors on the market.

The Thundercat is equipped with a custom tuned motor, where we have increased the power from 5-15% across each mode to not just improve power output, but give a more linear increase in power as you move through each mode. This will help you make the most of the lower output power modes on a more regular basis.

The M820 is also equipped with one of the most advance, high quality colour screens available, making the riders experience all the more enjoyable, with a crystal clear, easy to use interface.

We have been fortunate enough to be one of the first brands to thoroughly test this motor over a 12 month period before moving into production, where it saw everything our snotty British climate could throw at it. During this, we were able to pull together some extensive real world figures on the range when used as a PROPER BICYCLE.

Real World range on a Medium frame, 21kg (‘burly’) build, 87kg rider across mostly enduro style mixed terrain:

Did a small bespoke steel bike brand just release a carbon Ebike? PHAH…. THE BLASPHEMY!

Yes, it’s true, we went so far right on this one we’re still trying to bring the rear end back in line… The Thundercat brings a whole new edge to our brand, and allows us to offer an alternative to a market that we just would not be able to normally reach.

To ensure the frame could be kept as light as possible without compromising the integrity, the Thundercat is manufactured using one-piece latex 3D mandrel and moulding out of T700 and T800 carbon by Light Carbon technologies in Xiamen, and is shared with a select number of other smaller brands. Thanks to this process, the strength of the frame & materials is increased by up to 30%.

The frame is then finished with Endruo Max bearings to ensure that smooth ride keeps silky between the sheets for the long term.
